William Benton played jazz piano before becoming a poet and novelist, Madly, and writing the book on Elizabeth Bishop's paintings, Exchanging Hats. He co- edited James Salter's Gods of Tin: The Flying Years. Pressed Wafer published his BACKLIT and THE MARY JULIA PAINTINGS OF JOAN BROWN.
