The diary’s inspiration comes from a true story: a small red journal once belonging to Florence Wolfson, a bright, fearless New Yorker who chronicled her teenage years between 1929 and 1934. For decades, her reflections on books, love, and city life lay tucked inside a forgotten trunk in the basement of a Riverside Drive apartment building, until their rediscovery sparked a 2006 New York Times feature.

Created by The Ice Plant in collaboration with Shopsin’s General Store, this modern edition invites you to do what Florence once did, capture a few lines of your life each day. Every page is devoted to a single calendar date, divided into five sections so you can see previous years’ entries as you add new ones. Extra pages in the back allow space for listing books read and places visited.
