The exhibition checklist records twelve works, all reproduced here, alongside an exhibition history and selected bibliography. Color and black-and-white images take the lead, with minimal text inviting an unhurried encounter with the work.

A thoughtful addition to a shelf of artists’ books and exhibition catalogues, and an intimate introduction to this moment in Shapiro’s printmaking.

Title: Joel Shapiro: Lithographs 1979–1980

Artist: Joel Shapiro

Publishers: Brooke Alexander, Inc. and Paula Cooper Gallery, New York

Publication date: 1980

Format: Softcover exhibition catalogue, stapled wrappers

Pages: Unpaginated, approximately 16 pages

Illustrations: Color and black-and-white reproductions

Condition: Very Good
